This FINE QUALITY teapot is virtually covered with elaborate COLORFUL GRAPHICS depicting the history of one of the world's GREATEST STEAM LOCOMOTIVES. Designed by Sir Nigel Greasley, the #4468 in London & North Eastern Railway in Class A-4 MALLARD was built in Doncaster, England in 1938. It's powerful engine and sleek, AERODYNAMIC BODY would allow it to reach speeds in excess of 100mph. On July 3rd 1938 it attained a Steam Locomotive WORLD SPEED RECORD of 138mph. The actual AWARD commemorating this event is replicated on the teapot along with the locomotive's engineers AND detailed scenes of the train barreling thru the English countryside.
