Vintage Andenken an Koln made in Germany Pewter Cups
Vintage Andenken an Koln made in Germany SET OF 3 Pewter cups. Raubritter or Robbernight is from an engraving by ALBREDHT DUERER, a famous German artist who lived in Nurngerg 1471-1528. His home still stands today as a museum for his paintings and engravings. These knights lived in castles bordering the Rhine River and when ships tried to pass their land they were forced to stop and pay a heavy tax. Hence the knights called Robberknights. Duerer is also well known for his PRAYING HANDS.
