ANTIQUE 1907 DOUBLE HANDLED BUTTER CHURN. ~ Antique 1907 Tin Metal Butter Churn ~ ~ Scarce Unique Double Handle ~ These old tin & metal butter churns are getting harder and harder to find. Very few were ever made in the double handled models. The gears and turning handles are made of cast heavy metal. Both gears have all their teeth and turn smoothly. There are two turning handles, one on each side of the gears. They work with the same motion, as pedaling a bicycle. The handles have the wooden hand grips. This piece sets over the wooden paddle center. You can slide it up, to remove the paddle. The wooden center paddle is 14in long. The 5-gallon churn bucket is 10in square and 13in tall. The bucket is made of tin. The lid is two wooden pieces, with original porcelain spool knobs. The total height of the double handled churn is 30inand weighs a whopping 23 pounds. The tin has no cuts or cracks. I believe it would still churn a tub of butter or be a great collector's display piece.
